Went by subway, last stop, enrolled in painting classes and drawing droopy stuffed faces on rooftops, upstairs with beautiful souls, standing alone, pretending to walk, pretending to carefully carry mice in talons, mad rodent spirits in tweed jackets, I’ve been away too long, knocking on doors and waiting for rescue, eternally entering and returning, broken hearted and staring, advancing without need for breath, without breathing, silent protesting from thrift store counters, dressing in cotton and fake fake fur, betrayed by my brothers lost in revolution, furry and wide-eyed, your honesty, your too-long trip to Mexico, like a mad bird staring at the moon

Duke

I just completed an elective surgery to change my appearance from a frog prince back into just a regular frog. I always felt like my status as a prince inhibited my social development. I think it made some SAs uncomfortable, since they didn’t know if they were supposed to treat me like royalty or something. I would always explain that I was just sewn that way and that I’m just a normal frog— but first impressions are pretty important. I’m feeling a lot more comfortable in my own fur now, thanks to the help of The SARF.

*Duke will eventually be living in Brazil when his new family returns there from their stint in Austin- so we look forward to international updates!

Originally from Florida. I know that’s a cliche, a flamingo from Florida. But it’s true, so whatevs.

I like sewing, collecting algae, dancing, making Spotify playlists, watching YouTube makeup tutorials, Snapchat, and Insta.

I’d love to find a living companion who would help me with my social media presence. I’d love to have my own YouTube channel one day!

I visited Austin a few years ago during SXSW, and it seemed awesome! I’m a HUGE live music fan. I love every kind of live music. I do data analytics for a big tech company, and when they opened an Austin office, I jumped at the chance to move here. I specialize in SA online tracking and usage analysis. I love hanging out at The Domain and am always up for a good cover band. Hit me up if you’re interested in adopting me!

I like people. I like stuffed people and people with guts and people who are human and people who have big ears and little ears and no ears. I am happy and want home. I like SARF and I like after SARF soon and will visit SARF friends one day after I have new home. If you like me tell them so I can like you too and we can hang out.

Sorry, this bio is pretty last-minute. I’ve been so busy working on my science project that I haven’t had time to think! My science experiment is pretty complicated, and I don’t think it’s ready to show to the public yet. There are a lot of mistakes, and I haven’t had time to fix them. I really think I need some better Sharpies, and haven’t decided whether or not to paint my display board blue. Everyone else’s board is white, so I don’t want to stand out too much, but I really think blue would help convey my ideas. Then again, I think it might make things harder to read, especially since it’s a little dark out here at night. I also think there were some issues with my controls, because I didn’t account for relative humidity or the height of my subjects. Also, I missed a few days of data because of the wind conditions, so I might actually need to start over in order to be completely accurate. The SARF folks said I shouldn’t stress about getting everything finished in time for the petting zoo, so I am just going to work at my own pace. I just don’t want to put up an unfinished experiment, and I keep running into new aspects I hadn’t thought of before. I’m glad I still get to participate in the fair, though. I apologize for my tardiness, and thank you for reading.

Shonda

I am Shonda. I am a lead researcher for the Stuffed Animal Genome Project. We are still trying to decipher the shape of DNsA, but we are getting closer every year. I know I might seem like a pretty serious elephant, but I also definitely love snugging. Although I do spend a lot of time in the lab, I also just like to hang out on the couch and watch romantic comedies with my living companion. If you’re someone who works hard but also values downtime, I’d love for you to apply to adopt me. I think we’d get along great! Thank you for reading!

I like pretending to hop, watching TV, and carrying things around. I am looking for a new home with enough space for me spread out a little, since I am very tall for a Stuffed Animal. I am pretty much just an average SA, aside from the height thing.

I had a tumultuous hatchlinghood. I’m sure you’ve all watched the popular documentary* about the octopuses who live under the active volcano on Stromboli Island in Italy? The one about the octopuses who’ve adapted to that specific unpredictable and deadly environment? That’s where I grew up. Octopuses who live there have to be very fast swimmers to escape the frequent volcanic eruptions, and because I am stuffed and can’t move on my own, I had to live on the beach rather than in the water with my live octopus friends. I was often lonely, but they visited me often. I do miss them, but I am excited to find a new home and a human companion.

My former living companions and I had a very amicable separation. They had an SA overcrowding problem, which is common in a lot of homes with children. They asked if any of us were interested in getting out and exploring the world a bit more, and I volunteered. I still love my old living companions, but I am thankful that they gave me this opportunity to go out on my own and find a new home with someone who has a little more time to develop our relationship!
