Stuffed Artist’s Statement:
As a stuffed penguin living in the southwest, I have always been fascinated by the stark-yet-colorful landscapes of the desert. After completing my MFA in 2019, I spent the next two years living in a trailer near Monument Valley where I developed my technique, incorporating abstract penguin shapes (beaks, flippers, tails) into the flowing, organic palette of my surroundings.
