In celebration of the release of Austin Bat Cave‘s 2015 Anthology of kids’ writing (with, like, the best title ever: ARE YOU THERE GODZILLA? IT’S ME, MOTHRA), we will be having a Stuffed Animal Petting Zoo… Saturday, May 9, 3-7pm at the release party at Lewis Carnegie (1312 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, Texas 78702)
Kids will read their work, bands will play, there will piñata beatings, ice cream, typewriter poems, beer, and an auction that includes mention of potential correspondence with George Saunders (um, you better not outbid me on that one, lest I revoke your rights to future stuffed animal adoptions; don’t think I’m kidding).
The event is free and open to the public, and everything that happens goes to support Austin Bat Cave, which provides free writing programs for Austin kids, which is the best thing ever (except for The SARF, of course).
